Non-electrician here, trying to figure out compatibility for a server PDU. I have a wall socket that powers my apartment's heater, the socket is NEMA 6-30R. I want to buy a server PDU that has a L6-30P plug. To connect this to the wall socket, I need to get a 6-30P to 6-30R adapter. For example, my uncles new dryer says on the inner label it can run on 120 or 240 (more efficient on 240 of course) , but lets say there is an existing 120v (wiring sized to breaker accounted) is it as simple as running a jumper from terminal 1 to terminal 2. Is that right? A family member is installing a 240V 30A outlet in our garage and is not sure which cables to hook up to the outlet. The wire we ordered has 2 120V, 1 neutral, 1 ground, and the outlet has only two 120V and 1 gro...
